Iun Bernardette

Happy, proud, euphoric, in party mode and grateful for the experience and for all the people they met. This is how our students felt when they received the news of the jury's decision after the Coruche Fashion Cork fashion show at the closing of the 5th edition of the Cork and Cork Oak Forest Ideas and Creativity Contest.

"The training at LSD made it easier to move from the creative to the technical process."

João "Jaypfort" Fortunato

Exploring creativity and the ability to innovate a material as Portuguese and sustainable as cork was one of the common motivations for all the winning students. And also the opportunity to present a project outside the school, build portfolio and gain experience with feedback from professionals in the field.

Teachers Helena Quinan (Pattern Cutting course) and Paulo Pereira (Footwear course) were the main drivers of their students' participation, accompanying them throughout the creative and design process. They are also to be congratulated for their dedication and close support.

How did your LSD training impact this project?

João "Jaypfort" Fortunato: "My training in Pattern Cutting made it easier for me to move from the creative to the technical process, and it had a very positive impact on this project."

Inhanny Luquessa: "It had a very big impact, as it offered me tools to move forward with some of my dreams."

Iun Bernardette: "I started with no knowledge of shoe design until I was able to design in digital, LSD opened the doors to my professional future."

João Morais: "It would be impossible to participate without having had this training. The basics I learned were extremely important for the successful development of my project."

"I designed it thinking of a person with an eye to the future."

João Morais

 That anything is possible."

Inhanny Luquessa

What is the greatest value you take away from this Prize?
