After a degree in Economics, a Masters in Management Sciences, an MBA in Project Management and Business Engineering, and five years of professional experience in the Digital Communication sector, Binta Embaló (32) decided to continue studying and proved that in one year, with two courses at LSD, she was able to improve her knowledge in the two areas she is most passionate about: Photography and Graphic Design.
His brand Belamo (inspired by his family's surname of Guinean origin) is his artistic name and his mission is to help entrepreneurs develop more authentic and differentiating communication, adding a touch of art.
01. Why did you choose LSD and the Graphic Design and Photography courses?
Photography has always been my hobby since I was a child. My first camera was a manual Fisher Price camera. I wanted to improve my knowledge. The Graphic Design course was a professional direction. I've always worked in digital communication and felt I needed to complement my experience. Today it's really my passion and what I enjoy doing.
"Contact with professionals in the field conveys the reality of the market."
02. How was your experience on the course? Share a memorable moment.
I loved the whole experience of both courses, which were very thorough and practical. I'd particularly like to highlight the opportunity to be in contact with professionals in the field, who tell us about the reality of the market. This proximity allows us to quickly understand what needs to be done.
In the Photography course, it was wonderful to get out of school and have practical exercises with the camera. In the Graphic Design course I particularly enjoyed the process of creating brands, packaging, defining fonts, in short, it was very enriching. I highly recommend it.
"The courses at LSD have given me a lot of autonomy and skills."
03. How have the LSD courses contributed to your current career path? What are you currently doing?
The courses at LSD gave me a lot of autonomy and skills that I didn't have and didn't know how to do, such as using Adobe tools. Today I can do it with my eyes closed. I also realized how important it is to make sketches, to use paper and pencil. A sort of "back to basics". That's what creativity is all about. And I'm always looking for that.
I've developed my Belamo brand, I'm a freelancer in the field of graphic design and digital services (management of social networks and websites). And I really enjoy what I do.
"At LSD you develop a critical and
specialized eye that guides you along the way."
04. How would you recommend LSD's teaching method and courses to someone still unsure about their career path?
If you're looking to become a professional in an area of design that you're passionate about, choose LSD because it guarantees you complete and practical training. The teachers are approachable and provide very close support, not just during lessons. I keep in touch with supportive teachers and classmates. To sum up, I give you 4 reasons to choose LSD:
1. You get to know the real job market and understand how you can become a "pro" in your chosen field;
2. You gain knowledge of important digital tools;
3. You develop a critical and specialized eye that guides you along the way;
4. Your creativity and dynamism are boosted.
Finally, work is always better when you do it in the area you really enjoy.
